DANCING MAKES YOU HAPPIER- SAYS SCIENCE
Want to get healthy? Better get your groove on!
An Australian Unity Wellbeing Index has found people who get up and dance, or go see live music are happier than non dancers.
They say it's all about creating personal relationships and connecting to the community.
Report author Dr Melissa Weinberg from the Australian Centre on Quality of Life says we engage with music in all sorts of ways. "We listen, we sing, we play instruments, but in terms of our subjective wellbeing, greater happiness was only associated with those who danced and attended musical concerts."
But there's a catch to this music happiness. Dancing alone doesn't count towards any boost in happiness, and the act of making music actually makes you sadder ;(.
