WINTER'S COMING? NOPE, NOT TODAY!
The shops may be filling up with winter clothing, but the weather bureau says we won't need that kind of gear for at least another couple of weeks.
Temps are averaging at least 6 to 9 degrees above average for this time of the
year – today we’ll reach 35 in the city, while Ipswich will swelter with 39, and
Gatton could reach 40!
The weather bureau’s Brett Harrison says March has, so far,
been a lot warmer than usual, apparently a result of warm air building over
Queensland this week, and a surface trough pushing the air towards the coast.
There’s no storms on the forecast just yet, but he does say
we may get a few clouds about.
The good news? Things are set to cool off towards the
weekend. The bad news? Only slightly and definitely not for long:
“We’re still in a general Summer transition period towards
Autumn… we’re not going to see any really cool temperatures for at least the
next couple of weeks.”
